MARSHLAND MARKETING
Experience, independence, and a love for the web.

A Little About Me
I’m Felicia, the person behind Marshland Marketing.
My path here wasn’t exactly a straight line—and I’m glad it wasn’t. Over the years, I’ve worked with businesses, technology, websites, customers, and more than a few problems that needed figuring out. Somewhere along the way, I discovered that I genuinely enjoy the part that frustrates a lot of people: finding out why something isn’t working and getting it working again.
I’ve watched the web change dramatically over the years. Tools have gotten easier, websites have gotten more complicated, and small business owners are now expected to understand everything from domains and DNS to hosting, email, forms, WordPress, security, and whatever new thing showed up last Tuesday.
That’s a lot—especially when running a business is already a full-time job.
Marshland Marketing grew out of the idea that website help doesn’t have to be complicated, overpriced, or buried under technical jargon. Sometimes you need a website built. Sometimes you already have one and just need someone to fix the darn thing. And sometimes you simply need someone willing to explain what’s happening without making you feel like you should already know.
I work independently, I like solving problems, and I care about doing things properly. I’m also a firm believer that a business should own and understand the digital pieces it depends on. My job isn’t to make clients dependent on me. It’s to help them get where they need to go.
That’s really the heart of Marshland Marketing.

Where It Started
I’ve been messing around with computers and websites since the internet still made that horrible dial-up noise. Back then, building something online meant learning by doing—DOS, FrontPage, early browsers, clunky graphics, broken layouts, and plenty of trial and error.
I didn’t have a grand plan to work in web or technology. I was simply curious, stubborn enough to keep figuring things out, and completely fascinated by what could be built on a screen. I created my wedding venue completely by code.

Somewhere Along the Way, It Clicked
What started as tinkering eventually became something I actually understood. Websites stopped feeling mysterious. So did domains, email, DNS, WordPress, troubleshooting, and all the little pieces that make the web work behind the scenes.
Graphic design became part of it too—not because I set out to become a designer, but because I kept wanting things to work and look right.
Over the years, curiosity turned into experience, and experience turned into the ability to look at something broken, confusing, or ugly and think, Okay. I can figure this out.

And Somehow, Here We Are
Marshland Marketing is really the result of all of it—the years of learning, fixing, designing, rebuilding, messing things up, and figuring out why.
I still like simple solutions. I still think people should understand and own what they’re paying for. And I still get way too much satisfaction out of fixing something that has been driving someone else crazy.
These days, I get to combine the technical side with the creative side and build things my own way—with a black Lab supervising operations, naturally.

Meet the CEO
Lanie takes her role at Marshland Marketing very seriously. Her responsibilities include supervising all projects, attending meetings she wasn’t invited to, reminding everyone when it’s time to step away from the computer, and maintaining a strict squirrel-free workplace.
When she’s not overseeing operations, she’s usually swimming, playing fetch, or occupying whichever spot was intended for someone else.
She has no formal training in web design, WordPress, or marketing—but she’s an excellent judge of character, works for treats, and remains firmly convinced that every good business needs a Lab in charge.
So far, management agrees.
